Dental implants are the ultimate solution for replacing missing teeth. They are titanium, zirconium, or combination titanium/zirconium posts that are surgically implanted into your jawbone. The bone begins to bond around the post and stabilizes. Then, an artificial replacement tooth is placed over the implant. The results look completely natural, so people won’t be able to distinguish the implant from your natural teeth.

Northern Virginia Surgical Arts specializes in removing impacted wisdom teeth that are causing dental issues or have the potential to cause health problems in the future. We will perform an intraoral and radiographic examination of your mouth to determine whether or not the wisdom teeth should be removed. If removal is advised, our surgeons will perform the procedure with minimal pain or discomfort.

We help patients with abnormal growths or lesions in the mouth and face. We perform a comprehensive evaluation and if needed, 3D imaging in our office. When indicated, biopsies are performed to determine the microscopic diagnosis and imaging to evaluate the extent of the lesion. Removal of the lesion can be done in the office or in the hospital depending on the size, location, health of the patient, and other factors. For advanced cancer, a referral to a head and neck cancer specialist will be made.

A cleft lip or palate is a birth defect that occurs when parts of the palate or lips do not fully form during the early stages of pregnancy. Instead, a gap is created in either the lip or the roof of the mouth (palate). This can affect a person’s appearance as well as their ability to eat, speak, or even breathe in some cases. Our office provides surgery to address both the cosmetic and functional effects of a cleft lip or cleft palate.
